HCG Frustration

I am about to lose it, evidently not literally though.  I was doing so well and losing about a pound a day but now since Saturday I have been stuck at 170.5.  That is 5 days!  I did the apple day which worked last time but no such luck this time.

I decided I am just going to keep following the diet to the T and no cheating or working out and see what happens by Friday.  I will not weigh myself again until Friday morning and hopefully I've made atleast a little progress since today by then.  I don't know if I can stick to this strict diet if I am not seeing the results.  I am upp-ing the water intake as well.

Breakfast: Rice cake and an apple
Lunch: Turkey lunch meat and asparagus
Dinner: Chicken and mixed grilled veggies

On a happier side note, I may be getting a promotion at work.  They have an opening at our Ft. Collins office that seems perfect for me.  I am doing a phone interview with the boss man today and then maybe driving up there at the end of the week or beginning of next.  It'd be a nice raise but I would have to move up there because the winters get bad and the travel might be impossible.  Maybe it won't be so bad?  Ft. Collins is a college town so maybe it will be easier to meet friends than it has been here.  *crossing fingers*
Wish me luck!

Ugg yet another apple day :(

So my weekend on the diet was not so great.  I didn't really cheat per say but I did not take in enough water or eat at my regular times...I think this hurt me.  After my last apple day I went down to 170.5 and for the past 2 days I've been stuck there.   So here I come apple day again!

Over the weekend I made chocolate chip cookie dough...yes dough...not the cookies.  I ate about 4 spoon fulls and then froze the rest.  I hope this does not become a problem because I love cookie dough but so far so good.

Symptoms: I've been noticing that my teeth hurt :*(  Not sure if this is from the diet or my retainers (from after braces) but they are really sore when I chew.   It's just the top row, which is the one that moves the most when I forget my retainers so I am not too worried but if my teeth fall out I swear I will hurt someone.

HCG Day 5

Hello!  Sorry i missed a few days but I got busy with work.  So as of Day 4, I was 172pounds and as of today (Day 5) I am the same.  This means I am supposed to do the apple day.  The apple day consists of eating 6 apples throughout the day and then for dinner you eat as big of a steak as you would like.  You continue to take the drops as well.  I have a feeling I might be starving but I am hoping the drops will curve it enough that I am fine.

Yesterday, we had a company potluck at work and I think that is where I went wrong.  I just had literally a taste of a few things and a few chips but that was it.  I guess grazing is not a part of this diet.  I did the stairmaster for 15 minutes last night to burn some of it off but I guess it just kept me at the same.

On Wednesday I did lose 1.5 pounds though so maybe that is a part of the slowing weight loss as well.

I've been noticing that I have to burp a few times after I take the drops...not sure why.  The drops to me taste like a sweetened vodka...kind of a alcohol taste but not too bad.

Have a great day!

HCG Day 2

Hello All!
Im on Day 2 of the HCG drops and I feel pretty good.  Not as hungry this morning as I was yesterday.  I upped my breakfast though so I think that helped.

Breakfast: Rice Cake & Apple
Snack: Orange
Lunch: Turkey burger and asparagus
Dinner: Veggies & Tilapia

I have noticed that I feel like I have more energy almost immediately from this diet which is great!  I have also been having random twiches in my arm, neck and eye.  I was having arm twiches before I started the diet so not sure of the cause.

Positives:  A week before I started the diet I weighed 183 pounds.  Today when I weighed myself I was at 174.5  I don't think I've actually lost almost 10 pounds in the last couple days but I am definitely down from where I was! Yay!

HCG Diet

Hello All,
It has been a long while since I have updated on here.  I am currently working in DTC at a great job with a internet company.  Good people and the job is easy enough.  Only problem...there is ALWAYS food around.  I have gained 8 pounds in one month and I am already about 13 pounds heavier than when I went to Vegas in April.  This is sick and sad.  My clothes do not fit anymore and I feel tired all the time.  This is why I have decided to try the HCG Diet Drops.

I have a couple close friends that have done the drops with a lot of success.  One friend lost 25 pounds in 40 days on the diet.  My goal is to be able to do 21 days (3 weeks) and see from there where I am and how much more I want to lose.  My weight loss goal for this diet is 15 pounds.  That would put me at 168.  I don't think I have been below 170 in over a year.  I'd love to lose more but I do not want to have unattainable goals.

The plan:
You do 2 loading days were you take the drops 30 minutes before each meal and eat as much fatty junk you want.  The idea behind this is that it takes the HCG 2-3 days to get into your system and it will curve your appetite for the days to come.

After your 2 loading days you start with the 500 calorie a day diet.  This seems really strict and not enough to me so I am shooting for about 650 calories that way I can work out while on this diet as well.  You take the drops 30 minutes before eating 3 times a day for 3 weeks while you eat the restricted diet.  The diet says no sugars, starches, and fats.  I am sad about this because I love avacado (healthy fat) and sugary treats.  I think it will help me to kick my addiction of sweets and carbs though so I have positive thoughts.

After your 3 weeks of the limited calories you stop taking the drops and continue with the diet plan for 3 days.  After that can eat more things but still no starches or sugar for 3 weeks.

I will document my weight loss as well as any symptoms I experience.  Today is the start of my three weeks on the limited calorie diet.  I did my two "loading" day previously and ate cookies and drank soda lol.

Positives: Weight loss, re-starts your metabolism, supposed to eat away at the fat, quick results, etc.

Tips: Take an asprin a day to prevent blood clots, eat a bit more greens to curve the hunger, drinks a lot of water, take in a few more calories in order to work out while on the diet so you don't lose muscle mass.

Wish me luck!

STILL NO WORD FROM THE JOBS!!!  I am freaking out.  I called them yesterday and they said they should have a decision either today or tomorrow (friday).  I seriously cannot sleep and I am so anxious waiting.  Ugg!  I did however swing a phone interview for tomorrow for a job in Boulder.  It'd be a far drive everyday but if it paid well enough I would do it, or I could move closer to there.  I went to a new gym today and it was really nice.  Still a 24 hour fitness location but its a "Super Sport" so its more expensive to go to. I'd have to pay $15.00 more a month on top of my $25.00 membership.  I don't i'll do that but it as nice.  Huge, all new machines, free towel service, and better work-out classes.  If I lived closer I'd definitely join but it is about 30 minutes from my house.

Food: Bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, hashbrown, and oj.  Tatortot cassarole for lunch.  2 Slices of cheese pizza and a banana for dinner.  3 vanilla wafers.

Work-out: 45 minutes on the gazelle (intervals for a bit then steady 10), 3 sets of 25 on the leg press and the same on calf raises.

Positives: Got a workout in while the child I am babysitting was at school.

Negatives: Still no word on jobs.  If I haven't heard by tomorrow ...I might cry.

Work-out: None

Positives: Making money babysitting

Negatives: No work-out today

Woke up early this morning and cleaned the oven, and did the dishes then went back to sleep, lol.  I then woke up and did some homework, bought a new pair of jeggings for only $12.00 at Ross, and headed to bowling.  I used to be in a league for bowling but my team decided not to this year but I really miss it.  I didn't bowl very well but it was fun.  Lastly, I went to the gym with my aunt Chanda.

Food: Tator tot cassarole for lunch and breakfast, grapes, a frozen lean dinner 240 calories, one half slice of pizza, half glass of juice, 1 brownie, 6 pieces shrimp roll, and 3/4 an apple.

Positives: Went to bowling and worked out.

Negatives: Still have not heard back from the jobs I interviewed for but crossing my fingers for tomorrow.

1/23/11

Long day at the homestead. I slept in late and then got up and got a TON done.  I cleaned the entire house, did my unemployment stuff, applied for graduation online, cancelled my credit report subscription (I didn't mean to join ..it was a scam!).

On a side note, I am soooo wanting to go back to Las Vegas.  It was so much fun when I went in July with a couple girl-friends and I want to go back.  Hopefully I can convince Lindee and some other people to go with me.  It will be so much fun!  We just sit by the pool all morning/afternoon, then maybe a nap and get ready for dinner and to go out.  We saw the Chippendales last time and it was a bit cheesy but they pulled me up on stage and it was pretty hot.

Food: Chipotle soft chicken tacos and lemonade.  Small amount of steak with mixed veggies. 1/2 scoop of ice-cream.

Work-out: 1hour of interval training on the tredmill with running and walking on a incline at 15.

Positives: Cleaned the entire house...including my bathroom which needed it, lol.

Negatives: None so far.  Got everything done!

1/22/11

Once again I did not get a very good workout in :(  I was busy all day long so in my defense I didn't have time.  I went to an Avalance game, ate dinner, and ended the night with a comedy show.  I was supposed to babysit but it got cancelled last minute.

Food: Half a personal pan pizza, and a small glass of Pepsi, a couple french fries, chicken and asparagus, a few bites of a soft pretsyl, and a biscuit.

Work-out: None

Positives: Had a good day out and about.

Negatives: No workout

1/21/11

Hello there!  I got another job interview today and it is for a staffing agency.  I would be the executive assistant/receptionist.  It pays about 30k a year, good benefits, and it is a small office so it'd be like family.  I think it'd be a great job but we shall see what happens from all these interviews.  The girls and I also went out downtown.

Food: Chips and salsa, water, half a glass of soda --I know :( , one shrimp tempura roll, and some alcohol.  A couple bites of lamb and hummus.

Work-out: 20 minutes of Pilates

Positives: Another job interview, and got to hang out with the girls.

Negatives: Didn't do my normal workout

1/20/11

Had my second job interview of the week today and now I am so torn.  Don't get me wrong ...I don't have either job yet but if I were to get offered them both I wouldn't know which to choose!  The second one pays great, is for an oil and gas company, and seems like there is great people.  Ugg!  I guess I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but I have a really good feeling about these jobs.  Plus, I bought myself a lucky bamboo so that should help me out :)  I dropped Chanda off at the airport today so I need some more activities to do!

Food: Half a bowl of Kix cereal with a banana, a roast beef sandwich with cheese, a couple pieces of steak, water, a piece of garlic bread, steak & veggies, and grapes.  I ate 7 cookies, and 3 biscuits :(

Work-out: 1 hour of tredmill (interval training with weights) almost 500 calories burned, 300 crunches, stretching, walking lunges, and 30 kickbacks per leg.

Positives: I cooked a bunch of veggies and steak today to put with salads and had the great interview.

Negatives: Took way too long of a nap so now I won't be tired for bed in a couple hours.

Hello!!!  Today was a pretty good day.  I went and got a pedicure and then headed to the gym with Ashley.  I also finally got to have dinner with my good friend Krystal..sushi of course!  I haven't seen her in a long while and we had a lot of gossip to catch up on.  Chanda leaves tomorrow to go to Baltimore to see her boo so I'll be nice and lonely all weekend.  I guess that is a good way for me to get more homework done.

Food: Banana, Turkey Lean Cuisine (with baked apples) 240 calories, water, spicy tuna roll (8 pieces), shimp tempura roll (6 pieces), and a couple pieces of vegetable tempura.  Snack, a cookie 100 calories, and a fruit snack 100 calories.

Welcome!

Hello Visitors,

This blog will follow my journey of moderation.  I am a 22 year old woman living in Denver, Colorado.  In October, I lost my job as a Administrative Assistant and quickly went from having extra money to spend on whatever to being on unemployment and having to have a budget.

Not only did the job loss affect my spending habits, but it also helped me to gain 12 pounds in about two months.  I had nothing to do, unless I made plans with friends, so I slept in until the afternoon and did not go to bed until 4 or 5am.  This plus the lack of working out and added junk food (comfort food as I say)made it so my clothes just don't fit the right way anymore.

Now, I have made moves to change this lack of motivation in my life.  I currently workout 5-6 times a week and I am trying to eat better but I think that is the hardest part.  I love dessert, carbs, and things that just are not good for you!  It will be a challange but I am ready for the best years of my life and living like this is not part of it.

In this blog, I will keep track of my workouts, weight loss, food habits as well as the other things going on in my life.  I hope you enjoy reading and that it might motivate you to make some healthy changes for yourself.  If you are not doing it for yourself then you will never stick to it.
